What is OSAquatics?
OSAquatics is a freshwater conservation, captive-breeding and wildlife media organisation based in Devon. Our work combines ethical breeding programmes, conservation initiatives, scientific collaboration and professional freshwater wildlife filmmaking.
Do you still sell fish and aquatic livestock?
Yes. Captive breeding remains an important part of our work and we continue to breed selected rare and conservation-priority species. Alongside this, OSAquatics is increasingly focused on conservation, education and freshwater wildlife media.
Are your animals wild-caught?
No. We strongly support sustainable aquatics and prioritise captive-bred animals. Reducing demand for wild-caught livestock is one of the key principles behind our breeding programmes.
Why do you breed endangered species?
Responsible captive breeding can reduce collection pressure on vulnerable wild populations while preserving valuable bloodlines and increasing awareness of species facing environmental threats.
Can I visit the facility?
Unfortunately not. Due to strict biosecurity measures and the need to protect our livestock and breeding programmes, visits to the facility are not permitted.
What type of wildlife films do you produce?
We specialise in freshwater ecosystems, fish behaviour, amphibians, aquatic invertebrates, conservation stories and underwater habitats. Our content aims to showcase the extraordinary biodiversity hidden beneath the surface.
Do you license stock footage?
Yes. We provide high-quality freshwater wildlife footage for broadcasters, production companies, publishers, conservation organisations, researchers and content creators.
Can I use your footage in my project?
In many cases, yes. Contact us with details of your project and we can discuss suitable licensing options.
Do you work with conservation organisations?
Yes. OSAquatics supports and collaborates with scientific and conservation organisations both within the UK and internationally.
Can you assist with research projects?
Where time and resources permit, we are interested in supporting educational, scientific and conservation projects involving freshwater species and habitats.
Do you provide fishkeeping advice?
Our website contains extensive care information, species profiles and educational resources. Due to the volume of enquiries received, we are unable to provide individual husbandry consultations by email.
Do you supply retailers and trade customers?
Yes. Selected captive-bred livestock may be available to retailers, educational organisations, public aquariums and specialist breeders.
How often is availability updated?
Availability changes regularly throughout the year as breeding projects progress and livestock becomes available.
Can I support your conservation work?
Yes. Donations help support conservation breeding programmes, educational initiatives, facility improvements, research, fieldwork and freshwater wildlife filmmaking projects.
